Artist’s statement

My artistic approach is based on an exploration of the plasticity of images and meaning. After working primarily in video art, I am now attempting to take the image from the frame of the screen and reinsert it into the material world, into physical space. Using self-representation and the performing body, my work thus examines notions of corporality. Defining myself as a post-punk artist, I am interested in both the form of my created objects and their conceptual implications. Drawn to the philosophy of Philippe Nassif, I try to assume the “posture of the inveterate player, who connects the simulacrum with authenticity.”
